Washington County Public Records
The Texas Public information Act becomes an instrument which permits the residents to request for a copy of any government information, also known as the public records. These documents are governed through the general law providing the citizens in Texas the right to apply for such legal information. But, not all public records are guaranteed to be accessible or available as per the guidelines set by the state and local government. There are those that are not divulged due to some security issues like when it is being used for an on-going investigation.
There are various offices which possess such public records; they include the District Clerk’s office, County Clerk, District Attorney, Sheriff’s office, Clerk of Court and the law enforcement agencies where the incident had been recorded. The District Clerk coordinates with the district and county court at law courts in the county. So, cases that are heard and decided in court shall be documented in the office of the District Clerk. The Sheriff’s office on the other side can be visited in the county level, which means that you no longer have to go to the Texas’ records office.
