Delaware Marriage Records
Marriage records are important documents which provide useful information for researchers and for verification purposes. In the state of Delaware, you can find Delaware Marriage Records and other vital statistics under the care and management of the Office of Vital Statistics. Public records, in particular, marriage documents which are 40 years of age or older, can also be found at the Delaware Public Archives. Aside from the original manuscript, these documents are also available on microfilm and can be reproduced. Among the information that you can get from these documents include the names of the couple, their age and date of birth, their parents and their place of birth, number of previous marriages of the couple, date and place of marriage, and witnesses and officials that were present during the event.
Records can be requested through email, regular mail, telephone, and in person. A request form has to be filled up and attached to your request or brought with you if you decide to personally come to the office. There is a $25 fee for requesting a certified copy.
